Hi. Bonjour. Hola. Guten Tag.Namaste. Kumusta.

Welcome to our blog! We wish to chronicle our experiences in travel and share our adventures with you. Also by documenting our journeys in travel, style, and food, maybe it can be a resource for anyone who might want to explore the same experience. Hope you enjoy!

Simply Gorge-ous!

Simply Gorge-ous!

Magnificent cliffside views and hairpin mountainside driving may not seem like a kid-friendly travel destination but Gorges du Verdon was fun for the whole family. All you have to do is get on a pedal boat, preferably with a slide, and the twisty-turny drive is all worth it.

At 15 euro per hour per boat, it's fun that won't break the bank. Don't try to be too ambitious and navigate too far into the gorge waterways. Instead, pedal around a little bit then pick a spot and enjoy sliding into Lac de Sainte Croix, which even into mid-September is still warm and refreshing.

Pack a picnic lunch and eat right on the shores of the manmade lake,  but beware it is a mostly rocky beach so make sure to have footwear. Enjoy skipping stones into the still lake that covers the original village since it was relocated in the '70's.

Drive up further to Gorges du Verdon proper and stop at the lookout point on the pont to get spectacular views of the river canyon below. Just mind little ones who may try to squeeze in between the bridge railings - Richie! - and give one a start!

Find your way to Moustiers Sainte Marie - a very picturesque village built seemingly right into the cliffside. Kind of like Lourmarin meets Cinque Terre. It's a cool view to the village, at the village, and from the village!

And those winding ess-curve ridden roads? Well, they'll put the kids to sleep!
