InterContinental Hotel Phu Cuoc - Vietnamese Valhalla
It’s all in the details. That’s the InterContinental Hotel’s tagline but at the Phu Cuoc Long Beach Resort, those words are put into daily action. The Club InterContinental Lounge staff were especially adept at upholding this level of detailed assistance.
White glove table service, holding the door open, a friendly “Xin chao” greeting, and remembering your name. Small actions, standard order of procedures, but done with a sense of authenticity total for a very pleasant and special stay.
A highly recommended, highly reasonable splurge would definitely be the Club InterContinental. For around US $130 per couple (and an added $32 per child over 6 - under is free!), the privileges are certainly worth it. Club perks include: private round trip airport transfer, butler services, and best of all, gourmet a la carte breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails and canapes. You’ll find it difficult to decide which is better; the food or the service.
The lounge even has a private pool for club members only, and although its use is for those aged 12 and up, it is still a very child and family-friendly environment. Offering games such as chess, Monopoly, and Uno (which happen to be our kids’ favourites), along with a children’s dinner menu, and cheerful plastic place settings, you’ll find having the the l’il ones tag along isn’t prohibitive. The attentive staff who provide the occasional extra eyes and hands actually make the family dining experience a positive one.
Speaking of being good with kids, the children’s club called Planet trekkers, is good for the kids. As Club IC members, you’ll have access to unlimited use of the kids’ club programmes which include: Nature Discovery, Kite Flying, and Balloon Painting. Time it well and participate in adult recreational activities such as Snorkelling, Beach Tennis, or Petanque. Or borrow a family set of bikes and explore the hotel’s pathways. The staff are all female and especially trained to look after their charges. Details abound here too as every staff member knew all three kids' name by heart.
As with other hotels, the Resort offers excursion packages (such as a “day trip” to the Night Market), but with all the offers mentioned above and more, there isn’t much need for much outside exploration. Here’s one final detail: The InterContinental Phu Cuoc Long Beach Resort is the destination.
