Hi. Bonjour. Hola. Guten Tag.Namaste. Kumusta.

Welcome to our blog! We wish to chronicle our experiences in travel and share our adventures with you. Also by documenting our journeys in travel, style, and food, maybe it can be a resource for anyone who might want to explore the same experience. Hope you enjoy!

Palavas les Flots my Boat!

Palavas les Flots my Boat!

The road to Palavas les Flots is paved with… a bike path. And even better is that it is virtually flat and very easy for even our l’il ones to navigate from Montpellier.

Flanking the Rive Lez is a great pedestrian and bike only path. We picked up the path at Cyclable bike shoppe near the Courtyard Marriott in Montpellier where we rented two electric bikes (one with a basket for 2 kids) and one kid’s bicycle (all for 70 euro for the day). The path meanders alongside the coastal river as lazily as the Lez itself.

The ride should have taken about 45 minutes according to most guides, however, with five year-old pedal power it took us nearly double that! It didn’t feel that long though thanks to the varying landscape along the way. We cycled past stables and saw several majestic horses grazing. Little waterfalls, a marina, and, our favourite, a marshy area of the Mediterranean home to flocks of flamingoes and egrets.

Once in Palavas proper, you’ll be rewarded with a very large stretch of beach and a line of art deco inspired hotels and restaurants. We continued to ride our bikes on the beachside promenade past some great, modern condos with a fantastic sea view. I’m sure we’ll be checking out some real estate listings soon! There sure seems to be no place like a home around here.

Following the yellow brick road? Nah. Just follow the bicycle path to Palavas - it’ll prove to be just as magical!
